For those who missed DC in theatres, there is already an OTT destination to look forward to. According to 123Telugu report, Sun NXT has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights to the film. The platform's name was reportedly featured during the opening credits. However, an exact OTT premiere date has not been announced yet.However, viewers will have to wait for an official announcement regarding the OTT release date. At present, Sun NXT is the confirmed streaming platform, but the makers and platform have not revealed when the movie will begin streaming online.
DC is set in a dark and violent world and is loosely inspired by the classic story of Devdas. However, the film takes the familiar emotional conflict into a crime-driven setting, adding action and revenge to the narrative.
Lokesh Kanagaraj plays Devadas, a man caught in a morally complicated world. His life becomes intertwined with two women, Chandra and Parvathi, whose own experiences have been shaped by injustice.
Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra and marks her debut in Tamil cinema with the project. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy plays Parvathi, completing the film's central trio.
The movie has been directed by Arun Matheswaran, who is also credited with working on the costumes. The filmmaker is known for his distinctive approach to stories involving violence, complex characters and morally grey worlds.
DC box office performance
DC arrived in theatres with an A certificate and has a runtime of around 2 hours and 23 minutes. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 4.1 crore net in India on its opening day. Its India gross was approximately Rs 4.70 crore, while the overseas market contributed around Rs 1 crore.Taking the domestic and overseas figures together, DC recorded an estimated worldwide gross of Rs 5.70 crore on its first day.
The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor to the domestic total, earning around Rs 2.60 crore net. It recorded an overall occupancy of 45.57% on the opening day. The film saw its strongest numbers during the night shows, when occupancy climbed to 67.38%.
The Telugu version contributed around Rs 1.25 crore to the India net collection and recorded 30.80% occupancy. The Hindi version had a more limited opening, earning around Rs 25 lakh with an occupancy of approximately 9%.
Interestingly, the Telugu EPIQ format recorded a much stronger occupancy of around 71%.

Following its theatrical release, DC is headed to Sun NXT, which has acquired the film's post-theatrical streaming rights. The platform's association with the film was reportedly revealed through the opening credits.The film is produced by Sun Pictures, with Kalanithi Maran backing the project. Alongside Kanagaraj, Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, the supporting cast includes Avinash Raghudevan, Kasthuri Raja, Jawahar Sakthi, Sharath Ravi and Thalaivasal Vijay.
