After drawing strong attention during its theatrical run, The Housemaid is now getting ready for its digital debut in India. The erotic psychological thriller starring Sydney Sweeney has quietly built momentum among Indian viewers, and its OTT release is expected to bring the film to a much wider audience. The film will be available for early access on multiple digital platforms.

When and where to watch The Housemaid in India

Viewers in India can rent or buy The Housemaid from February 12, 2026. The film will be available across Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google and YouTube Movies, and BookMyShow Stream. The rental price starts at Rs 499, making it accessible across devices including smart TVs, mobiles, and laptops.

Alongside these platforms, the film will also stream on Moviesphere+, which operates under global content studio Lionsgate. Moviesphere+ has been steadily expanding its presence in India by adding Hollywood films and international titles to its catalogue, and The Housemaid is among its latest additions.

The story follows Millie, played by Sydney Sweeney, a young woman trying to escape a troubled past. She takes up a live-in job as a housemaid for Nina and Andrew Winchester, portrayed by Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar. What begins as a fresh start soon turns unsettling as secrets inside the house slowly surface, putting Millie in danger.

Announcing the next chapter, Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate’s motion picture group, said, “It’s clear from both the global box office and from the outpouring on social media that audiences have responded strongly — and audibly — to the totally unique and truly theatrical experience of The Housemaid and want to know what happens next.”

He added, “We are beyond excited to bring the next chapter of Millie’s story to life on-screen in collaboration with our outstanding creative partners Todd, Paul, Laura, Carly, Alex, and Sydney. The Housemaid’s Secret is another wildly thrilling book in Freida’s series that has captivated readers worldwide.”

Sydney Sweeney, director Paul Feig, and Michele Morrone are set to return for the sequel. Rebecca Sonnenshine will adapt Freida McFadden’s second novel, with Sweeney and McFadden also attached as executive producers.
