The Bads of Bollywood OTT release date announced: When and where to watch Aryan Khan's directorial debut

Bollywood’s spotlight has officially turned to Aryan Khan, who is stepping into the director’s chair for the very first time. His debut series, The Bads of Bollywood, has been buzzing since the day it was announced, and now Netflix has finally dropped its premiere date along with an exciting first preview. With a star-studded cast, cameos from big names, and Shah Rukh Khan himself lending his voice to the teaser, the show is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about OTT releases of the year.

On Wednesday, Netflix confirmed that The Bads of Bollywood will start streaming on September 18. The project is directed by Aryan Khan and co-created by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, with music by Shashwat Sachdev. Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment is backing the series. Red Chillies Entertainment hyped up the announcement on X, calling the show both powerful and heartfelt, while confirming that The Ba***ds of Bollywood will premiere on Netflix on September 18.

About the preview

The official preview, a little over two minutes long, opens with Shah Rukh Khan’s powerful narration about Bollywood being a city of dreams that isn’t meant for everyone, where some are born to a star while others are born stars. It then introduces Kill fame actor Lakshya as Aasman Singh, alongside Sahher Bambba, who plays the daughter of superstar Arjun Talvar, portrayed by Bobby Deol, and also appears as Lakshya’s love interest.

The series packs an impressive lineup, featuring Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Manoj Pahwa, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Rajat Bedi, and Gautami Kapoor. Adding to the hype, Salman Khan and Karan Johar make cameo appearances.

The preview was unveiled at a special event in Mumbai, where Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan joined the cast and crew. Billed as a genre-defying series that blends cheeky humour with self-awareness, The Bads of Bollywood has Aryan Khan, Bilal Siddiqi, and Manav Chauhan also collaborating on the writing. Produced under Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt., the series marks Aryan’s much-awaited entry into filmmaking — and Bollywood fans clearly can’t wait to see how he reimagines the world of stardom.
