The Telugu film industry is gearing up for a major box office clash this September, as two big films are gearing up for release on the same day. Ghaati, a rural crime drama starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu, is scheduled to hit theatres on September 5, 2025. According to OTTplay report, Amazon Prime Video has reportedly secured the OTT rights for Ghaati at a record-breaking price. It marks the highest digital deal in Anushka Shetty’s career so far. The film is expected to start streaming in the first week of October 2025, barely a month after its theatrical run. According to sources close to the production, the makers have already recovered half of the film’s budget through this deal alone.



The film had a decent opening at the box office and now the film is struggling to hit Rs 5 crore mark at the box office. According to Sacnilk.com, Ghaati minted Rs 0.58 crore on day 3 and now the total collection stands at Rs 4.27 crore.

In Ghaati, Anushka plays an independent woman who, due to unforeseen circumstances, becomes a weed trader and makes a name for herself in the underworld. It’s a gritty, layered character far removed from her past roles, and it’s expected to showcase a new avatar. Vikram Prabhu plays a key supporting role, although the makers have kept his character details under wraps.


The film has a U/A certificate and a runtime of 2 hours and 37 minutes. The music is by Nagavelli Vidya Sagar, with cinematography by Manojh Reddy Katasani and editing by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu. The trailer, released last week, has been well-received.
