'Thank you for standing by good cinema.' Film critic Kaushik LM passes away at 36, tributes pour in from Rashmika, Dhanush, Dulquer

Popular film critic and video jockey of YouTube channel Galata, Kaushik LM passed away on Monday at 36. The news about the death was shared by Galatta Media on its official Twitter account. According to the media outlet, Kaushik succumbed to a cardiac arrest.

Galatta, one of the popular entertainment outlets in the South, stated that Kaushik’s death was a huge personal loss to the organisation. The portal went on to express heartfelt condolences and offered support to the family of the noted critic.

“Reputed film critic, movie tracker, and Galatta VJ @LMKMovieManiac passed away today, due to cardiac arrest. His demise is a huge personal loss & we here at Galatta extend our heartfelt condolences & strong support to the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” read the tweet by the portal.

Following the development, several actors from the Southern cinema took to their social media to express their condolences. Dhanush, Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Karthi among others expressed their grief.

Popular actress Rashmika Mandanna shared the post by Galatta and said that it was heartbreaking news. The actress went on to commend the critic. “I am so sorry to hear this...It’s really heartbreaking.. what an absolute darling he was," wrote Mandanna in her tweet.
Malayalam actor Dulquer took to his Twitter account to offer condolences. The actor in his tweet said that Kaushik always showed him love and support during their brief interactions. In a subsequent tweet, Dulquer expressed his gratitude to the late critic for standing by good cinema.
Keerthy Suresh expressed grief by saying that she was unable to comprehend that Kaushik was no more.
Dhanush, while condoling the death, said that it was too soon. The ‘Atrangi Re’ actor expressed his condolences to Kaushik’s family and friends.
‘PS1’ actor Karthi said that it was shocking and that he had met Kaushik a few days ago.
Vijay Deverakonda, in a tweet, said that the critic will be missed.
According to The News Minute, Kaushik was to attend the press conference for the Tamil film 'Jivi 2'. However, when he did not arrive his colleagues called but did not get any response. One of his colleagues told the news portal that he went to sleep at around 2 pm and did not wake up.
