Thackeray Jr's reception a glitzy do; Tata, Ambanis, Maha CM in attendance

NEW DELHI: Sunday saw the who's who of the political spectrum, India Inc and Bollywood showing up at Mumbai's St Regis Hotel in full attendance for a Thackeray wedding. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray was the host at the Lower Parel hotel as his eldest son, Amit, tied the knot with fashion designer Mitali Borude.
The glitzy affair saw a traditional Maharashtrian wedding solemnised during the day at the hotel. The evening was a starry do that saw bigwigs from various fields blessing the newly-weds.
Among the first to arrive for the wedding rituals was family member Uddhav Thackeray. Uddhav, who is also the Shiv Sena president and Raj's first cousin, came with his wife and son to bless the couple. Other political attendees included fellow Maharashtrian and Union minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar and former state CM Ashok Chavan.
India Inc personalities at the reception included Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, and Mukesh Ambani with wife Nita. Bollywood was represented by Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar, Sonali Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sunil Shetty, Siddharth Jadhav, among others. Sachin Tendulkar, along with wife Anjali, was also present.
Their private engagement ceremony, held at Raj Thackeray's residence, 'Krishna Kunj', in Dadar, was attended by family members and close friends.

Mitali is the daughter of renowned paediatrician Dr Sanjay Borude. A trained fashion designer herself, she has launched her own label with Amit's sister Urvashi Thackeray.
