Tamil superhit film Dragon OTT release: Expected date, where to watch online, language versions and other details

Pradeep Ranganathan’s highly awaited film Dragon has made a remarkable debut in cinemas, delivering an impressive box-office performance. As audiences continue to flock to theaters, many are now eager to find out when and where they will be able to watch the film on streaming platforms. Helmed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the director known for Oh My Kadavule, this coming-of-age comedy-drama is set to premiere on Netflix following its theatrical release.

Dragon’s Box Office Success

Released on February 21, 2025, Dragon has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. The superhit film has already collected over Rs 100 crore at the box office, making it one of the biggest Tamil grossers of this year. According to the box-office tracking portal Sacnilk, this Tamil-language coming-of-age comedy-drama has amassed an outstanding Rs 78 crore domestically. On the global stage, the film has collected close to Rs 115 crore in total earnings.

About Dragon

Dragon is a 2025 Indian Tamil-language coming-of-age comedy-drama film, conceptualized and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Backed by AGS Entertainment, the film stars Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, George Maryan, K. S. Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mysskin.


The plot centers around a young man who graduates from college with 48 backlogs. Although he manages to build a successful career, unforeseen circumstances force him to return to his alma mater to clear his pending arrears.

The film was first announced in April 2024 under the tentative titles #AGS26 and #PradeepAshwathCombo, marking AGS Entertainment’s 26th production and the first collaboration between Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu. Shortly after, the official title, Dragon, was unveiled. Principal photography kicked off in May 2024 in Chennai and was largely wrapped up by October. The film features a musical score composed by Leon James, cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy, and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.

Dragon had its grand theatrical release worldwide on February 21, 2025, in both standard and EPIQ formats. Upon release, the film garnered widespread praise from critics, with reviewers lauding the lead performances, engaging screenplay, and strong direction. With its outstanding box-office figures, it has solidified its place as the second highest grossing Tamil film of 2025.
