Fame is a fickle friend. And the quest for fame and glamour, often, comes with its own set of consequences. Many in tinseltown find themselves unable to cope with the stress and pressure and take drastic measures. Here are a few celebrities whom we lost in 2022.

Popular TV actress Tunisha Sharma - known for her roles in ‘Internet Wala Love’, ‘Ishq Subhanallah’ and for playing Katrina Kaif junior in ‘Fitoor’ and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ - died on the sets of her show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul’ in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on December 24. The 20-year-old was found hanging in the make-up room. In an earlier interview, the actress had opened up about suffering from anxiety and depression.

The 25-year-old actress was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment in the Garfa area of south Kolkata on May 15. Two days after her demise, the police arrested her live-in partner Sagnik Chakraborty. A popular TV face, she acted in hit shows like as ‘Ami Sirajer Begum’, ‘Saraswatir Prem’ etc.

Just ten days after Pallavi Dey’s demise, another of her industry peers took her life. Bidisha De Majumdar’s body was recovered from her Dum Dum flat on May 25. Reports suggested that she was depressed due to her tumultuous relationship with her boyfriend.

The Tamil actress was found dead in her flat at Virugambakkam Mallika Avenue, Chennai, on September 18. The ‘Vaidha’ actress left behind a note, citing a failed relationship as the reason behind this drastic step.

A close friend of Bidisha De Majumdar Manjusha Niyogi's body was recovered from her flat in Patuli, Kolkata. She was working as an actress in the TV serial ‘Kanchi’ after a brief modelling stint.

Vaishali Takkar, who became a household name through popular soaps like ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, was found hanging at her Indore apartment on October 16. She was 29. In her suicide note, the starlet said she was being harassed and abused by her neighbour Rahul Navlani. On April 2021, the actress shared a video of her engagement ceremony with her fiance Dr. Abhinandan Singh but later called off the engagement as the couple split up.

The 37-year-old was found dead at his apartment in Kakkad, Kerala, on July 29. The police officials also recovered a suicide note.The actor who had featured in films like ‘Angamaly Diaries’, ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ etc had referred to a long battle with depression in his suicide note.

Rashmirekha Ojha, a popular Odia television actress, was found hanging in her flat in Odisha’s Nayapalli area on June 18. Although she had left behind a note stating no one was responsible for her death, her parents alleged that her live-in partner - Santosh Patra - was responsible for her death. She shot to fame through the serial ‘Kemiti Kahibi Kaha’.
