Sushant Singh Rajput death: Mumbai Police opposes CBI probe, tells SC that Bihar Police FIR 'politically motivated'
The Mumbai cops said that impartial investigation was being done.

The actor’s partner Rhea Chakraborty had moved SC to restrain Bihar Police from arresting her and for transferring the FIR filed in Bihar against her to the Mumbai Police. Chakraborty, through senior advocate Shyam Divan, contended the FIR against her was biased as it was filed after considerable delay and interference from the state. Bihar, through senior advocate Maninder Singh, claimed there was political pressure on the Mumbai Police but not in Bihar. He denied any delay in filing the Bihar FIR.
Appearing for Maharashtra, senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi questioned the jurisdiction of the Bihar Police. “Criminal law is being turned on its head. The CrPC is being murdered,” he said, seeking to know if there were any other case where a victim’s family or accused can demand investigation by a third state if dissatisfied with the probe in the state where an offence took place.
Appearing for the actor’s father, senior advocate Vikas Singh accused the Mumbai Police of not carrying out a probe due to its “anti-Bihar bias”. “Shiv Sena has a political history….” The bench reserved the order after seeking case precedents.
