Sushant S Rajput death: Narcotics Bureau joins probe, will investigate Rhea's 'drug chat'
The model's lawyer has denied the claims and said that she is ready for a blood test.

In a fresh development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has joined the probe into the late actor's death investigation.

After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the NCB is the third central agency to join the probe into the 'Kedarnath' actor's death. The ED, which is investigating the money-laundering angle, has forwarded some evidence to the NCB about the late Bollywood actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s alleged links to banned drugs.
Times Now reports that the ED has shared WhatsApp chats of Chakraborty, where she allegedly talks about drugs, with the NCB.
After receiving the evidence from the ED, the NCB held its first meeting on Wednesday which was chaired by Rakesh Asthana, who has the additional charge of the agency as its director-general. Meanwhile, Chakraborty's lawyer, Satish Manshinde, has refuted the claims. ED officials were reported as saying that they chanced upon certain data and these "prima facie" inputs have also been shared with the CBI, which is probing the death case, as well as the NCB.

Meanwhile, Chakraborty's lawyer, Satish Manshinde, has refuted the claims and said that Chakraborty is 'ready for a blood test'. "Rhea has never consumed drugs in her life ever. She is ready for a blood test," the lawyer said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rajput's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, sent out a tweet calling Chakraborty's alleged drug chat a 'criminal offence', and urged the CBI to take action. "This is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE!! An immediate action should be taken by CBI on this. #RheaDrugsChat," Shweta tweeted from her unverified Twitter account.

So far, the ED has grilled Chakraborty twice, following an FIR registered by Rajput's father KK Singh at the Patna police station on July 25. Apart from Rhea, her father Indrajit, mother Sandhya, brother Showik, Sushant’s manager Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi, and unknown persons have been named in the Bihar Police FIR and accused of cheating and abetting the actor’s suicide.
On August 19, the Supreme Court had ordered a CBI probe and dismissed Chakraborty's plea seeking transfer of the FIR from Patna to Mumbai. The CBI team had arrived in Mumbai on August 20 and has so far questioned Rajput's flatmate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh and caretaker Dipesh Sawant.
