Rhea Chakraborty claims threat to life, says her family being hounded; seeks Mumbai Police protection

Rhea Chakraborty, on Thursday, said that there is a threat to her life and her family and requested the Mumbai police for protection. The 28-year-old model, who was in a relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput at the time of his death, posted a video on Instagram of her father being questioned by TV journalists.

The model-turned-actress claimed that the footage was from her building compound and the man in the video is her father, Indrajit Chakraborty.

"We have been trying to get out of our house to cooperate with ED, CBI and various investigation authorities to cooperate.," wrote the actress in the caption of the Instagram video.


Chakraborty claimed that there is a threat to her life and family. "We have informed the local police station and even gone there , no help provided . We have informed the investigation authorities to help us get to them, no help arrived . How is this family going to live?" asked the 28-year-old.

The actress also sought protection from the Mumbai police for her and the family. "In Covid times, these basic law and order restrictions need to be provided," she wrote.

In another video she shared the testimony of Ram, her building watchman, who has been working there for 10 years. The actress shared with her followers that Ram was hit by the media and that he is hurt. She further added that the media personnel entered her building compound and hurt her security guard, Ram and her father.

"Is this not a crime ? Who is responsible for this ? Is there any law at all ? Are we barbarians?" wrote Chakraborty, along with the hashtag #justiceforram.

"Will the concerned authorities kindly take notice , there are children and elders living in this building too . Or is this the system we live in ?" questioned the 'Jalebi' actress.

Earlier in the morning, Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty arrived at the DRDO guest house here for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This is the first time that a member from Rhea's family is being questioned by the investigating agency.

Rajput's flat-mate Siddharth Pithani was also called by the CBI for the seventh consecutive day for questioning in the actor's death case.

The Supreme Court last week upheld the transfer of an FIR, lodged by Rajput's father in Patna against Chakraborty, the late actor's girlfriend, and others for allegedly abetting his suicide and misappropriating his money, to the CBI.
