SS Rajamouli 'speechless' after Golden Globe win, NTR Jr says 'Naatu Naatu' will forever stay close to his heart

India made history after the Telugu track 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR' won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song - Motion Picture on Wednesday.

Hours after the ceremony concluded, director SS Rajamouli took to social media to share that he was 'speechless'.

In a heartfelt note on Twitter, the 'Baahubali' director was proud to see the Telugu track win hearts on the global platform.


"Music truly knows no boundaries," the film-maker wrote alongside a video of the moment when the award for 'Naatu Naatu' was announced. In the video, Ram Chara, Rajamouli and NTR Jr were seen jumping out of their seat with joy after Keeravaani bagged the award.

Furthermore, the 49-year-old thanked Keeravaani, who is also his cousin, for creating the wonderful track. "Congratulations & thank you, Peddanna, for giving me 'Naatu Naatu'. This one is special," he added.

Composed by veteran music director MM Keeravaani, the foot-tapping song - featuring Ram Charan and NTR Jr - has been a social media rage ever since its release.


Rajamouli also expressed his gratitude towards fans from around the world for showering their love on the song. "I thank each & every fan across the globe for shaking their leg & making it popular ever since the release #GoldenGlobes," he concluded his post.

Congratulatory wishes pour in
Actor NTR Jr also congratulated Keeravaani on the 'well-deserved' Golden Globes award.

In his sweet post, he said that 'Naatu Naatu will always be special for him. His caption read, "I've danced to many songs throughout my career, but 'Naatu Naatu' will forever stay close to my heart..."


Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, who was also part of the superhit, congratulated Keeravaani, Rajamouli and Team 'RRR' for bringing home the Golden Globe.


Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt, who also made her South debut with 'RRR', showered love on the legends - Keeravaani and Rajamouli.

The award ceremony, held at Beverly Hills, California, was attended by Rajamouli with his wife Rama and son SS Karthikeya, Keeravaani with his wife Srivalli, NTR Jr with his wife Pranathi Nandamuri and Ram Charan with his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, and 'Baahubali' producer Shobu Yarlagadda.

The popular song has been choreographed by Prem Rakshith and penned by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.


The song was up against Taylor Swift's 'Carolina' from 'Where The Crawdads Sing', 'Ciao Papa' from 'Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio', Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand' from 'Top Gun: Maverick' and Rihanna's 'Lift Me Up' from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.

'Naatu Naatu' has also made it to the 95th Academy Awards shortlist for Best Original Song, along with 14 others.
