'Naatu Naatu' shines at Golden Globes 2023: Anand Mahindra thanks 'RRR' team, Snapdeal boss calls it a 'proud' moment

The 'RRR' team is basking in the glory of their Golden Globes win.

The 'Naatu Naatu' track from the blockbuster won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in Motion Picture on Wednesday.

Congratulatory messages and wishes have been pouring in for the cast and crew of the movie, which minted Rs 1,200 crore at the box-office last year after its release.


Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra was overjoyed to see 'Naatu Naatu' win the international honour at Globes.

In his tweet, he thanked the 'RRR' team and 'Naatu Naatu' for bagging the prestigious award. He said that the victory introduced the world to India's true global brand.

"Dance, and the world dances with you ... A country that can make people sing and dance together," he wrote in his caption. He also posted a 43-second-long video snippet from 'Naatu Naatu', picturising Ram Charan and NTR Jr.

He concluded his post with the famous Sanskrit words - 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', where 'Vasudha' means earth, 'iva' means is and 'kutumbakam' means family. The Sanskrit phrase, which means 'The World Is One Family', is also a part of the mantra VI-72 in the Maha Upanishad that belongs to the Samaveda tradition.


Mahindra's post was retweeted nearly 2K times and was liked by more than 17K people.

Quote-tweeting the Globes victory video from the official Twitter account of 'RRR', Snapdeal co-founder Kunal Bahl called it a 'proud moment' for India.

Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel & Power, congratulated Rajamouli, Keeravaani and the entire team of 'RRR' on winning the Globes. "This is a great achievement," he wrote.

The cast of the movie, Ram Charan and NTR Jr, attended the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. They were accompanied by Ram Charan's entrepreneur-wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, NTR Jr's wife Pranathi Nandamuri, MM Keeravani along with his wife Srivalli, and SS Rajamouli, his wife Rama and son SS Karthikeya.

The fast-paced Telugu track is composed by veteran music director MM Keeravaani and penned by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. The song was up against Taylor Swift's 'Carolina' from 'Where The Crawdads Sing', 'Ciao Papa' from 'Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio', Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand' from 'Top Gun: Maverick' and Rihanna's 'Lift Me Up' from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.
