Snapchat is finally rolling out this much-awaited feature

After a long wait, Snapchat is finally ready to roll out this feature which will allow users to change their usernames.

Snap Inc has said that it will soon be rolling out an update globally later this month that will allow users to change their usernames without having to create a new account.

The new update will be available for both iOS and Android and will arrive on February 23, 2022


Till now, there's no option for Snapchat users to edit and change their usernames and in case you have an account that flashes an embarrassing username and you wish to fix that, the only solution was starting afresh with a new account.

However, with this much awaited update, the users can now update the username of their existing account. But there's a catch. You can only change your username once a year.

So make sure you give it a lot of thinking before update your Snapchat username as the second chance will only arrive after 12 months.

How does this work?
It's pretty simple. Once the update arrives on February 23, you need to go to your profile screen, click on the Bitmoji icon on the top right corner of the camera. Then hit the 'Username' button and select 'Change Username'.

Changing your profile's username will not affect your contacts, Snap Score, memories, chat or Snap code.

Here's another warning, once you do successfully change your username, your previous ID name will disappear forever.
