"A t-shirt, preferably a company one with a pair of chinos does the trick for me. Not having to fuss over the day’s attire saves me some precious time early in the morning," he says.
Dressing game
"One can’t go wrong with a ready business casual blazer when it comes to smartening up. I keep a jacket close at hand. Donning it over my t-shirt, I find helps me transition from a casual work call to important stakeholder meetings in a matter of seconds without much effort," he shares.
For work call attire, Sharma keeps it casual and comfortable. "A t-shirt, most days and a pair of chinos or jeans work just fine for most of my meetings and calls. For strategy meetings and networking, I don a blazer over it," he says.
Call wear Sharma doesn't have a favourite loungewear brand that he is loyal to. "Anything comfortable works for me. A smart hoodie with joggers is a perfect after-work attire I’d opt for. It fits in perfectly for those after-hours impromptu video calls as well," he says.

Sharma hasn’t indulged in any guilty shopping during the lockdown. "I didn't buy anything particularly in the clothes or accessories department. I did, however, give my home office an upgrade, making it more ergonomic as I spend copious amounts of time there," he says.
Missing element "I love my sneakers, both for business and casual getups. Confined to the four walls of my house, I miss the feel of comfortable shoes," he shares.
Sharma is all for functionality and for him the N95 masks fulfil that to the T. "At home, I use a clinical mask when I have to come in contact with outsiders. For me, in matters of health, purpose and functionality always trump fashion," he says.

“I decided to use this opportunity to improve my physical conditioning. I started cycling (after more than 40 years) inside my gated community from mid-April. I went from seven kilometres per ride to 20 kilometres by the end of June. Recently, I did a 52-kilometre ride to Chikka Tirupathi [on the outskirts of Bengaluru]. Cycling has had a huge impact, not just on my physical conditioning but also my confidence.”

“Startups are quite demanding, so I’ve never been able to work out more than three days a week, even when I trained for the Ironman Triathlon. So, when the lockdown was announced, I decided to challenge myself with a ‘consistency goal’ of accomplishing a workout a day. It began with coordinated workouts on Zoom with my friends and as restrictions eased, I started going for outdoor runs. There were days when there would be so many calls that I’d be seen climbing the building stairs at 10 pm. I now have more than 100 days of workouts under my belt and it has been the biggest stressbuster.”

“During the lockdown, I have managed to master single-leg burpees. It’s important to have a defined schedule and stick to it. I ensure that I block out some time during the day for exercise. I work out at home daily with various bodyweight exercises — I do pushups, burpees and air squats. I love doing CrossFit and high-intensity interval training that combines weightlifting, aerobics, powerlifting and gymnastics.”
