Parineeti Chopra is stepping into the OTT sphere with the mystery thriller series Shaque: Trust No One. The actress was last seen in the Imtiaz Ali-directed film Amar Singh Chamkila (2024). The biographical musical drama, also starring Diljit Dosanjh in the lead, was inspired by true events, showcasing the life and tragic assassination of legendary Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife, Amarjot Kaur. Now, Parineeti is making her debut appearance in Shaque, sparking excitement among fans. So, without further ado, let’s get into the details.

Parineeti Chopra’s Shaque will be arriving on Netflix on September 24. The OTT giant confirmed the announcement by sharing the poster of the series on its official Instagram handle. The side note read, ‘Shaque ki sui chal padi hai, tareekh nazdeek aa rahi hai,’ which translates to ‘The needle of suspicion has started weaving; the date is drawing closer’.

Shaque, created by Rensil D'Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, is directed by Rensil D'Silva and backed by Alchemy Films. The poster shows Parineeti Chopra exuding a shocked expression as she flashes a torchlight in one hand and holds a missing person poster in the other. The poster reads, ‘Missing girl reward 15,00,000’.

Besides Parineeti Chopra, Shaque also features an ensemble cast including Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary and Sumeet Vyas. The story centres around a mother’s 9-year quest for her lost child, which reaches a dangerous and unexpected conclusion, blurring the boundaries between truth, suspicion, trust and instinct.

Director Rensil D’Silva, in a statement, revealed what audiences can expect from Shaque. He called the show a thriller built on uncertainty where every revelation leads to another question and every relationship unfolds in layers.

‘What fascinated me was the opportunity to tell a suspenseful story through the deeply emotional journey of a mother who has spent 9 years refusing to give up,’ noted Rensil, adding that he hopes Shaque will leave audiences second-guessing right till the very end.
