SC clears ban on 'Padmaavat', pulls up three states

The Chief Justice of India, Dipak Mishra, pulled up the three states - Gujarat, Haryana and Rajasthan - which had said that they would not allow the movie to be screened.
The SC hearing comes after the film's producers had approached the apex court.

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, the film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Allahabad High Court had issued a contempt notice to CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi. The notice was issued after Joshi failed to respond to a representation given by a petitioner seeking a ban on the release of 'Padmaavat'.
