Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' gets a release date, will hit the theatres in January
Alia Bhatt stars in the titular role.

Featuring Alia Bhatt in the titular role of Gangubai, a powerful and respected madam from Kamathipura in the 1960s, the period drama is adapted from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'.
Bhansali Productions, which has backed the film, announced January 6 as the release date on Twitter.

— Alia Bhatt (@aliaa08) 1632995553000The film was initially scheduled to release on September 11, 2020, but had been postponed due to Covid-19. In January this year, the makers said that the film would be released in 2021, but the pandemic led to another delay.
The film also stars Seema Pahwa and has cameo appearances by Ajay Devgn and Huma Qureshi.
