£11 for Red Bull, £236 service charge: Bill from famous chef Salt Bae's new London restaurant shocks Twitter

We all remember 'Salt Bae', the Turkish chef Nusret Gokce who went viral a few years ago for his picture of sprinkling salt on meat. The chef has now opened a chain of restaurants across the world. Gokce recently shared a video giving a glimpse of the new restaurant that opened in London.

"I was waiting very long time but finally dream come true opening very soon Nusr_et London," he wrote in the caption. The videos and pictures flaunt an impressive inside view of the eatery, with Salt Bae cutting meat and sprinkling salt on it in his trademark style.

But that's not the reason why he is making rounds on social media. An expensive bill from the restaurant recently went viral on Twitter for charging the customer Rs 1,81,494 (£1812.40).

The restaurant charges £236.40 as service charge on the bill. Netizens are in shock over the expensive prices of dishes on the menu.

"Honestly this needs to be a wake up call. Absolutely ridiculous to spend this sort of money on a meal it’s just obscene," a Twitter user pointed out on the picture of receipt going viral. "You are clearly being ripped off, it’s there in black and white to see, No cut of beef is worth £630, You were charged £11 for a can of red bull."

Many of Twitter lost it over restaurant's pricing of Red Bull which was priced at £11.00 and Coca Cola £9.00 over other products.

"That service charge alone is 3 weeks shopping for a family," another person wrote.
