Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 3' kicks-off to a strong start; earns Rs 24.5 cr on Day 1

The film sees Khan reprise his role as Chulbul Pandey after 7 years.

Salman Khan's action-thriller 'Dabangg 3' opened to a impressive Day 1, earning Rs 24.5 crore on its first day.

The third-installment of the film stars Sonakshi Sinha opposite Khan who reprises his role as the lovable cop Chulbul Pandey after 7 years.

Film critic and analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the figures, and credited the huge opening to Khan's growing star power.


He added that the ongoing anti-CAA protests did affect the business of the film.


Adarsh also shared the opening day figures for several of Khan's movies since 'Veer' in 2010. 'Bharat' was the 53-year-old's highest first-day grosser at Rs 42.30 crores.

'Dabangg 3' also marks the debut of Mahesh Manjrekar's daughter Saiee Manjrekar.
