Saif Ali Khan was never a fan of social media. The actor, who was last seen in Haiwaan, does not even have an X account. But seems like the 56-year-old has had a change of heart. On Sunday, October 11, Saif made fans super-happy after he officially joined Instagram. He has even shared his first post on the platform, and needless to mention it has grabbed attention. Interestingly, this move comes 2 years after Saif admitted that he runs a secret Instagram account.

Saif Ali Khan’s first Instagram post

Saif’s first Instagram post features two images of the actor, presumably inside his home. The first picture captures the Bollywood star striking a brooding pose in front of a bookshelf.

The other snap showcases Saif reading a book, sitting on a leather couch inside the library. His side note had a humorous touch. It read, ‘Pataudi Library. Judging books by their cover.’

Saif Ali Khan on not using social media

Back in 2024, Saif, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, revealed that he does have a private Instagram account. The actor added that he occasionally spends time on the app to browse content. However, Saif noted that he was aware that social media could be addictive and hence was reluctant to make his profile public.

‘I do have the Instagram app, and a secret account, too. I browse sometimes, but don’t enjoy it much,’ Saif had shared back then, adding that he scrolls Instagram for some time, promising to himself that he would delete it eventually but somehow never ends up doing it.

Saif Ali Khan’s Haiwaan

Clarifying his unwillingness to use Instagram, Saif had confessed that he does not want to get stuck in a position where he has to drop posts of other people. ‘I really enjoy the fact that nobody is really interested in asking me to promote something because they know that I am not on social media,’ said Saif, adding that it gives him enough peace and quiet.
