Suryaa: Sunny Deol is ‘torn between past and present’ in first look poster of new crime thriller

Sunny Deol is back with a new crime thriller. The actor was last seen in director Anurag Singh’s Border 2. The film, also starring Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, to name a few, premiered this year in January. Now, Sunny will be seen playing a new role in his upcoming crime thriller Suryaa. The 68-year-old shared the film’s first look poster on Instagram and needless to mention it has been receiving much love from fans.

The motion poster captures Sunny in a rugged avatar, sporting a bearded look, and seemingly deep in thought while smoking a cigarette. His brooding presence hints at someone caught in a dilemma between what happened in the past and what will happen in the future.

As per a report by Variety, Suryaa is expected to revolve around a man caught in a web of unanswered questions and buried truths. But what begins as a simple investigation soon turns into a far more complex territory. This sets the stage for a gripping crime drama, infused with elements of emotion, mystery, and confrontation.


Sharing the poster on Instagram, Sunny Deol wrote, ‘Torn between Past and Present. He uncovers the TRUTH!’. Besides Sunny, Suryaa also stars Ravi Kishan and Pragya Jaiswal in important roles.

All you need to know about Sunny Deol’s Suryaa

Suryaa, directed by M. Padmakumar, is produced under the banners of MM Moviez, with Deepak Mukut, Hemmant Mukut, and Lokesh Mukut as producers, alongside Kamal Mukut. The film will be ready to hit the big screens on October 20.

Producer Kamal Mukut, in a statement, revealed that he had roped in Sunnu Deol for 2 films: Gadar 2 and Suryaa. The duo started working on Suryaa after the blockbuster success of Gadar 2. The producer confirmed that Sunny will portray a never-before-seen avatar in Suryaa. The movie will transport audiences into 2 different eras.
