Rs 940 cr, and counting! ‘RRR’ BO collection surpasses Rajinikanth's '2.0'; Rajamouli & Co ready to celebrate Rs 1,000 cr debut

SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster film ‘RRR’ has been breaking all sorts of box-office records ever since its release. While the makers of the film and crew have already started the celebrations of the film crossing the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the box-office, the film has reportedly crossed Rs 940 crore.

The film has crossed the lifetime collections of Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ and Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’. While the Rajinikanth starrer had a lifetime collection of Rs 800 crore, ‘PK’ collected Rs 854 crore at the box office.

The film continues to do well across theatres and the Rs 1,000 crore mark being celebrated by the team is the sum total of the film’s collection, digital rights, and satellite rights. Even though there were reports that the film had slowed down, however, the numbers are increasing steadily.

The Hindi version of the magnum opus collected nearly Rs 240 crores on the 13th day of the film’s release. The Telugu version continues to mint in the Nizam area, the film made a record-breaking over Rs 100 crore in one territory.

The film which is all set to complete two weeks after its release has managed to register over Rs 1,000 crore in revenue and it is the biggest achievement for any south Indian film.

The film stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn in key roles. A few days ago Jr NTR penned a heartfelt note to thank his fans.

"Thank You! All of you heaped praises on RRR and showered us with love since the film's release. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who made RRR, a landmark film in my career, possible," the 38-year-old actor wrote in an Instagram post.

The film had received overwhelming support from Bollywood and other film industries.
