'RIP Moose.' Drake, who followed Sidhu Moose Wala on Instagram, bids adieu to fellow Canadian singer with a pic

Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder had sent shockwaves not just in Indian music and film industries it seems but also internationally. A day after the singer was shot dead at the Jawaharke village of Mansa district, Canadian rapper Drake took to his Instagram to share a photo of the late singer and wrote, ‘RIP Moose’. In the photo, Sidhu can be seen sitting while his mother stands behind him and smiles at the camera.

Drake shared the photo with a bird emoji. For the uninitiated, Sidhu had begun his music career in Canada as well. After his graduation, the singer released his first song "G Wagon" while he was in Canada, and had also performed live in several Canadian music shows. Drake, who is from Canada may have been familiar with his work, and fans are lamenting that the two never got to collaborate on any song together.

Fans were also quick to point out that Drake may know Sidhu because he was very popular in the Canadian rap community.

Sidhu was a famous musician and a Congress leader. The Guardian had mentioned him in their list of ‘50 new artists for 2020’ and not just that, in Punjabi music and cinema too, Sidhu was accumulating accolades and apart from Drake several musicians including Mika Singh, Daler Mehndi and others had lamented his demise.

According to a report in DNA, just two days prior to being shot dead, Punjab Police had withdrawn Sidhu's security. They had called it a temporary move, and cited pressing law and order duties due to which the security was removed.
