Singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s death leaves Ajay Devgn & Shehnaaz Gill shell-shocked, Daler Mehndi cancels song launch

Popular Punjabi singer and Congress leader, Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Sunday sending shockwaves across the country.

The 27-year-old was in a jeep when he was shot several times and was declared dead at the hospital. Investigation is currently ongoing in his death and a special investigation team (SIT) has been set up to probe the incident. Punjab Director General of Police V K Bhawra says that the murder can be due to inter-gang rivalry.

The singer’s death has left not only the Punjab entertainment industry traumatised but Bollywood celebrities also found it hard to process the news.


Singer Daler Mehndi tweeted that he is shocked and saddened by Sidhu’s death. Mehndi had a song launch scheduled in Gurugram on Sunday, and Punjab Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was to be present at the event. However, after the news of Sidhu's shocking death broke, the event was cancelled to ‘grieve’ the demise of the singer.
Actor Ajay Devgn said that he is still trying to wrap his head around this shocking incident, and prayed to god to give Sidhu’s loved ones strength in their hour of grief.Lamenting Sidhu’s death, actress and singer Shehnaaz Gill said that it is the greatest sorrow to say goodbye to a young soul.
TV host and comedian, Kapil Sharma said that Sidhu was a great artist and a wonderful human being and prayed for his loved ones.Actress Esha Gupta took to Instagram to share a photo of the departed singer with folded hands emoji.

Karan Kundrra too mourned Sidhu's death, and said he is angry and sad to say goodbye to the ‘legend’
