Restaurant Review: Bombay Salad Co is converting haters to salad lovers
Many men in the city are not big salad fans. They'll whine that a salad is all leaves and little substance. But Bombay Salad Co. has converted quite a few "non-salad" people since they opened up a few months ago; the steady stream of customers is testament to that.

However, that also means that service is a bit slow, but the roughly 15-minute wait is worth it. The menu offers salads in two sizes: Small bowl (roughly Rs 150-250) and a large bowl (Rs 275-415) that would actually do for two moderately hungry people.

While they have a build-your-own salad section with everything from kale and couscous to popcorn and Goa sausage to choose from, we recommend you stick to the Bombay Salad Co's choices.

For non-vegetarians, a must try would have to be the Upstream (Rs 245 for a small bowl) that's loaded with spinach, sharp roquette, a boiled egg and generous helpings of smoked salmon among other ingredients. The Protein Overdose (Rs 215) is another great option.

Served warm, this sweet corn, egg white and chicken teriyaki combo is a hearty meal. While the Red Samurai (Rs 235) is one of their favourites, it didn't score too well with us as we felt the dressing overpowered the rest of the ingredients.

The vegetarian section is as delicious with the Avocado & Feta (Rs 165) and The Yogi (Rs 165) leading the pack. Their drinks section is extensive and also worth trying out. Our pick would have to be the Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie (Rs 155) and the 100 per cent fresh fruit juices that include kale and orange and a lot of other interesting combos.
