Following strict diet, doing yoga & 15 minutes of meditation every day helps Vivek Tiwari stay healthy.
In an exclusive conversation with ET Panache, Vivek Tiwari, Medikabazaar founder, talked about the importance of keeping body, mind and soul healthy.
Body “Many of us take our bodies for granted, and don’t pay any attention to it until it’s too late. This is why we face various aches and pains, or worse still, chronic medical conditions. This is an especially common occurrence in the corporate world where people remain glued to their desks and screens. It’s why I decided to make sure I don’t miss my daily fitness routine.
“I love running and have participated in several half marathons over the years. Now, even as my work keeps me busy, I hit the track two to three times a week to keep myself in shape. I also take time off for archery, as it helps me bring focus to my life and builds unhindered attention to the goal.
“I feel that it is important to follow a regular and strict diet routine in order to operate efficiently. I always ensure my meals are low on carbohydrates and high on protein. I also eat a low-fat and zero sugar diet. Typically, my day begins with a heavy breakfast, which is important to operate effectively. This is followed by moderate meals for lunch and dinner. I have a preference for vegetables, as well as different types of cereals. I am not a big fan of non-vegetarian food. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of tea and coffee, and always try to experience the different types of these beverages, especially when I’m travelling.”
Soul “I am a trained yoga professional and ensure I devote one hour to it five days a week. Not only does this contribute to my physical wellness, but also helps me disconnect, self-assess and maintain a good balance in my emotional and mental health.

“I have to travel extensively for work. In addition, I also like travelling during my time off from work. I believe that discovering new places, interacting with people and immersing yourself in different cultures truly uplifts the soul.”
Mind “I ensure that I get six to seven hours of sleep every night. This keeps my mind sharp and capable of tackling the day’s work. I’m also trying to practice more meditation. I take 15 minutes out of my time every day to meditate, which helps me keep calm through the day. I feel it’s important to take more breaks in order to align your thoughts and recharge in the midst of a daily hustle.”
