Red flags: A look at some of Alex Jones’s most famous conspiracy theories

Notorious far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was recently booted out by social media giants for violating their terms of service. We explore some of the significant red flags that could have prompted this decision.
Best-known for propagating conspiracy theories, broadcaster Alex Jones was banned from all major social media sites on the same day for his racist, angry sermons.
In the past, he has ranted over the Illuminati, how 9/11 was ‘faked by the government’, and how Michelle Obama is ‘really a man’.
Here are others:
1. Hail Satan Demons are a popular theme with Jones who has labelled both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama as demons that smell like sulphur. Last year, in keeping with his devil rants, Jones warned his followers that Lady Gaga’s halftime show at the Super Bowl would double as a satanic ritual. 2. Actors, all actors Jones has repeatedly claimed that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, in which 20 children and six adults were killed, was “completely faked with actors”. According to Jones, the 2012 massacre was a hoax sponsored by the Obama administration as an excuse to introduce stricter gun restrictions.

He was quoted as saying, “It’s actors playing different parts of different people. I’ve looked at it and undoubtedly there’s a cover-up.”
3. Pizzagate Jones was one of the main proponents of a 2016 Pizzagate conspiracy that claimed that senior Democrats were running an occult child sex ring from the basement of a DC pizzeria. In a since-deleted Infowars video, Jones claimed that “Hillary Clinton has personally murdered children”.
4. Whipping up a storm In 2013, Jones told a caller on The Alex Jones Show that he wouldn’t be surprised if the government was behind the tornadoes in Oklahoma. Jones also said, “Of course there’s weather weapon stuff going on — we had floods in Texas like fifteen years ago, killed thirty-something people in one night. Turned out it was the Air Force.”
He warned that if people spotted helicopters in the clouds ‘spraying and doing things’, it could be a sign of the government’s involvement.
