Recipe: This Holi, try some Gujiya with a twist

These gulkand gujiyas will be the star of your Holi celebrations.

Holi is just around the corner, and what better way to begin the celebrations than by whipping up a batch of sumptuous gujiyas.

But, this year add a new flavour to this delectable sweet.

Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort's Chef Shivanand Kain shares his recipe for gulkand gujiya. Trust us, this will be the highlight of your celebrations this year.


Ingredients

Refined flour: 100 gm
Chironji: 20 gm
Desicated coconut: 20 gm

Khowa: 50 gm
Cardamom powder : 10 gm
Ghee: For frying
Dalda: 20 ml
Gulkand: 30 gm
Saffron: 1 gm
Sugar: 100 gm

Method

- Combine chironji,coconut, mawa, saffron, gulkand, and cardamom in a pan
- Knead flour,dalda and water together to form a dough.

- Let the dough for rest for 2 hour. Then make round balls and roll them flat.
- Cut it in half and fill it with stuffing.
- Cover with the other half and close the corners to form the shape of the gujia.
- Fry in ghee.
- Glaze with sugar syrup and garnish with pista flakes.
