Five easy tips to ensure that your skin has a stress-free Holi
Don't let your skin woes stop you from enjoying the festival of colours. Celebrate Holi with organic, vegetable-based colours, and stay clear of the chemicals. And while you make this switch, skincare experts at UrbanClap share some tips to make sure you have a stress-free Holi.

- Oil your skin
Apply a generous amount of oil on your skin, at least 2 to 3 hours before you start playing. Mix one part of coconut oil with one part of olive oil and apply evenly on the skin.

Also, make sure to oil your hair. If you have dry hair, squeeze some lemon juice in the oil and then apply.

- Moisturise
It does not stop at just oiling your skin. The moisturiser play a very important role before playing Holi. After applying oil, and just before you start to play, apply a water proof sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30. The SPF helps you protect your skin against the sun and the damage from the chemicals.

- Protect your lips by applying some petroleum jelly or a good quality lip jell with SPF 15.

- Hydrate well
Drink plenty of water. Try and consume at least 2-3 liters of water before you start playing. If you are unable to drink this much water, eating citrus fruits also helps.

Most of us also tend to drink during Holi celebrations, which makes it all the more important to drink plenty of fluids. The water keeps our skin hydrated and prevents the chemicals present in the colours from acting on the skin.

- Paint your nails
This is the best way to protect your nails from the colour. Nail paint thwarts the colours from seeping into the nails.
