Ravi Shastri salutes Virat Kohli for his work ethic & fitness; Yuvraj, Tendulkar & Saina post birthday wishes

King Kohli, who is in the UAE for IPL, turned 32 today.

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli turned 32 on Thursday, and social media can't keep calm. Twitter was flooded with birthday wishes for the Team India skipper, who is in the UAE for the ongoing 13th Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain, who made his international debut in 2008 and currently holds the top spot in ICC's ODI batting ranking, received special birthday messages from sports stars and B-town celebrities.

Team India head coach Ravi Shastri took to Twitter to wish the cricketer and said that he has set the bar in fitness and work ethic, and achieved greatness at such a young age.



Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar wished Kohli luck for for the coming season.


Cricketer Yuvraj Singh wished King Kohli luck for the playoffs, and hoped for RCB to turns it around this time.

On Kohli birthday, Ajinkya Rahane raised a toast to great conversations, fun off the field and creating great memories on the field.


Wriddhiman Saha thanked Kohli for all the amazing times they had together this year.

Virender Sehwag hoped for Kohli's hunger for runs to continue. "...May you achieve new heights and find fulfillment in whatever you do," he wrote.


Mayank Agarwal called Kohli an extremely talented human being, who has always been a symbol of hard work and persistence. "May your wisdom and knowledge never diminish.," his post read.

Cricketers Shikhar Dhawan, Krunal Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, VVS Laxman, were among other sports stars to wish the sports star.









Highlighting Kohli's achievements, the Board of Control for Cricket in India and International Cricket Council also wished the Team India captain.



Badminton star Saina Nehwal wished a fantastic year to the cricketer, table tennis player Sathiyan Gnanasekaran called Kohli 'super energetic'.



Actress Rakulpreet Singh thanked Kohli for inspiring the nation by being who he is. "May you have a year full of numerous centuries and record breaking matches," she captioned the post.

So far, King Kohli, who is also called 'Chikoo' by his loved ones, represented India in 86 Tests, 248 ODIs and 82 T20Is, scoring 7240, 11867 and 2794 runs, respectively. In Tests, he is ranked second while in T20Is he is placed at the ninth spot.

RCB, currently lead by Kohli, will be facing SunRisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on Friday.
