Ranbir Kapoor proposed to Alia Bhatt with three lions just 100 metres away. He says, ‘Meri sherni mere aage khadi thi aur mai...'

Ranbir Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of one of the most anticipated films of the year, Ramayana Part 1. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film’s team is busy promoting the project. Recently, Ranbir, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. A promo of the upcoming episode shows Ranbir recalling how he proposed to his wife, Alia Bhatt, during a trip to Kenya.

During his conversation with host Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir shared how he had planned the proposal in advance. He revealed that he had asked their guide, who was also their driver, to stop at a spot in the middle of the jungle.

Ranbir had also arranged for the guide to photograph the special moment from a distance. Explaining his plan, the actor said he wanted pictures of the proposal, adding that women often enjoy taking photographs and sharing them on Instagram.




Amitabh Bachchan responded to the story with a playful comment, saying that there should be proof of such a special moment.

However, the actor's story had an unexpected detail. Recalling the moment, Ranbir described, "There were three big lions on one side, about 100 metres away, and my lioness was standing in front of me. Meanwhile, I had turned into a mouse, down on one knee, saying, ‘Baby, Will you marry me?' It was a very very wonderful moment of my life that I will always remember." Big B then said, "Well done."

The proposal took place in 2022, before the couple's wedding. Alia had also spoken about being taken by surprise when Ranbir proposed to her during their trip.

Ranbir and Alia's relationship goes back to 2018, when they started dating after getting close while working on Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The film, which also featured Amitabh Bachchan.



The couple got married on April 14, 2022, in an intimate ceremony at their Mumbai residence. The wedding was attended by close friends and family members. Later that year, in November, they welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor.

Since then, the couple have occasionally shared glimpses of their family life while keeping much of their daughter's life private.

Meanwhile, Ranbir is preparing for the release of Ramayana Part 1, in which he plays Lord Rama. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
