Mahesh Bhatt turns 73, Ranbir Kapoor joins Alia, Pooja to ring in his birthday

Film-maker Mahesh Bhatt turned 73 on Monday, and his daughters Pooja and Alia brought in his birthday in style.

The 'Sadak 2' actresses shared glimpses of the celebrations on social media. While Bhatt's wife Soni Razdan and daughter Shaheen were missing in-person from the birthday bash, they celebrated with the family virtually.

Balloons with the wish "Happy Birthday Pops" printed, a light-box repeating the message, flowers, and two cakes made up for the celebrations, that also saw the Alia's actor-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in attendance.


Pooja Bhatt took to Instagram to share pictures that showed father Mahesh posing for the camera, while younger sister Alia held up the balloons to create the perfect frame.

"The birthday boy.. But don’t miss the setting girl!," Pooja captioned the pictures.

She also posted pictures of the desserts.

Alia shared further glimpses of the celebrations, captioning her post, "73 years younger."

A picture showed the film-maker holding the phone with Soni Razdan and Shaheen Bhatt on video call.

Elder sister Pooja thanked the 28-year-old for a lovely evening in the comments, writing, "Thank you two for such a lovely evening in every which way!"

Alia and Ranbir are often spotted with each other's families. The couple will be seen on-screen together in Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra'.
