Alia Bhatt's new bridal wear Ad by Mohey-Manyavar may have irked some netizens.
Bridal wear brand Mohey's new advertisement, featuring Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, didn't go down well with some netizens.

On Saturday, the Manyavar brand released a new commercial that promoted a redefined Hindu wedding rituals - from 'Kanyadaan' to ‘Kanyamaan’.

'Kanyadaan' is a Sanskrit word which means giving away the daughter to the family she weds into. 'Kanyamaan', in the ad, highlighted the idea of respecting brides.

In the commercial, Bhatt is seen questioning the conventional beliefs where the family is required to ‘given away’ their daughter at a wedding.

Soon after the ad was released, netizens started questioning the modern spin to rituals.

Some lauded Manyavar's progressive thinking, others called #Kanyamaan the new way of live.
