Rafael Nadal’s kindness towards injured Alexander Zverev in French Open semis wins the Internet, Tendulkar & Shastri hail his humility

Friday was a remarkable day for the fans of tennis. Rafael Nadal and his sweet gesture towards rival Alexander Zverev in the French Open semi-final has won the internet. Zevrev was forced to retire after injuring his ankle propelling Nadal to the finals.

The German tennis star who was in agony had to leave the court in a wheelchair. However, moments later when Zevrev hobbed back to the court to concede the match, Nadal embraced him. The Spaniard World No 5, said that it was human to feel sorry for a colleague. “It's not easy to talk about. I hope that he's not too badly injured, I hope it's not broken," said Nadal.

Nadal’s gesture has won a million hearts and the internet has been showering him with love. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to praise the Spanish tennis star. Tendulkar posted a picture of Nadal walking along with Zevrev who is seen walking with the help of crutches.


“The humility and concern shown by Nadal is what makes him so special,” Tweeted Tendulkar.
Meanwhile, another cricket legend Ravi Shastri too hailed Nadal and wished a speedy recovery for Zverev. Ravi Shastri took to his Twitter to laud the tennis stars. While he complimented Nadal for his sportsmanship and humility, the former all-rounder said that Zevrev will be back soon.
Towards the end of the second set, Zverev had twisted his ankle while reaching out for a ball at the baseline and fell down screaming in pain. Meanwhile, this is now Nadal’s 14th French Open final where he will contest Casper Rudd.
