The songwriter has also spoken openly about the importance of taking responsibility without allowing self-blame to consume you. Now, recently, his old interview about taking accountability, self-reflection and self-blame is in the spotlight after recent reports emerged of the rapper getting allegedy stabbed in Los Angeles. While details of the incident is unclear, his words give a glimpse into his thoughts.

Quote of the day by the rapper:

"It’s hard for people to take accountability. Blaming yourself is not really taking accountability all the way, but it’s the first step."

Lucki’s words on accountability and self-blame

In an interview with Pitchfork, Lucki was once asked about one of the recurring themes in his music: his desire to improve his life and his belief that change begins with oneself. Responding to the question, the rapper acknowledged how difficult it can be for people to accept responsibility for their actions. He explained that “blaming yourself is not really taking accountability all the way”, but described it as an important first step.

Lucki also spoke about the way people can respond when relationships end. Not everyone shrugs off responibility and blames the ex-partner. He argued that some people may still have feeling for their ex, even after the relationship has ended. He admitted that he cannot dismiss such emotions and stressed that refusing to accept and acknowledge one's own role in a situation goes beyond avoiding responsibility. For him, self-reflection is important in becoming a better person. In his words, he said, "I can’t do that. By doing that you’re not just not taking accountability but being a bad person."
