Priyanka Chopra pays tribute to her grandma, feels lucky to have ‘strong maternal figures’ in her life
Priyanka had a bevy of strong maternal role models growing up.

The ‘Barfi’ actress recently shared a couple of throwback photos of her childhood, in which she is seen sporting a mauve t-shirt, a brick red skirt and her hair is tied up in a half ponytail. The actress must have been in her preteen at the time of the photo. She can be seen sitting next to her nani (maternal grandmother), along with her mother, Madhu Chopra and her younger cousin, Priyam Mathur in the picture. The actress revealed that the photos are memories of her nani’s birthday celebration, and in the second photo she can be seen feeding her grandmother some cake.
In the caption, the ‘Don’ actress wrote, “ All of 6, celebrating my Nani’s (maternal grandmother) birthday. She helped raise me while my mom and dad balanced studying and medical careers. She was a hugely consistent part of my upbringing.”
The actress revealed that she had been incredibly fortunate to have so many great female role models in her life. “I feel so lucky that I had so many strong maternal figures in my life. I’m so grateful for you all. Miss you always Nani.” she added.
PeeCee also gave a shout out to her cousin who she said looked ‘adorable’ in the photo, and left a question for her fans to mull over. The 39-year-old actress concluded by asking, “why do I look so diabolical in the first picture? Your thoughts?”
Back home, she will be seen on the big screen with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zara’
