Content company Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with the Amazon Original, 'Four More Shots Please!', which launched on January 25 across 200 countries and territories in multiple language versions.
Nearly a month later, the response to the show is strong, with it still making a buzz on social media. It is also one of the first Amazon Originals from India to have an entire album of its music available across top music streaming platforms.
The show, a comedy drama targeted at millennials, is about four South Mumbai women in their twenties, each seeking her own destiny through friendship, love and life decisions that are not always perfect. These are four charmingly flawed individuals in search of what life and freedom can offer them.
The girls often meet in a bar to talk about their lives and that’s where the show’s title comes from. From left: Bani J, Kirti Kulhari, Maanvi Gagroo and Sayani Gupta in a scene from the show. While actors Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari, Bani J and Maanvi Gagroo bring their characters to life, Mikey McCleary’s background score is the highlight of the show. While the writing by Devika Bhagat, Hindi dialogues by Ishita Moitra and direction by Anu Menon tell a compelling tale, director of photography Neha Parti Matyani brings alive the magic of South Mumbai.
Created by Rangita Pritish-Nandy, the show has opened a new genre in the contemporary content space and is being appreciated by critics from across the world. It raises new questions about what being a woman means: unabashed, brave, free to take her own calls on life.

The Nandy sisters, Rangita and Ishita. Rangita says she set out to make a show offering a unique insight into the changing role of women in our society. A show that would capture the guts and gumption of today’s generation living out their imperfect lives in a metropolis like Mumbai. “We wanted to capture the magic of their lives and show how their flaws make them such wonderful and lovable people,” she says.
In its 25 years, Pritish Nandy Communications has worked across multiple genres — election shows, exit polls, fiction for television, business shows, some of the biggest awards shows, the first signature show on TV and, of course, what they are most famous for, over 20 path-breaking movies.
Its repertoire ranges from 'Kaante' to 'Jhankaar Beats' to 'Chameli' to 'Shabd' to 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' to 'Pyaar ke Side Effects' and its popular sequel, 'Shaadi ke Side Effects'. All of these are now available on satellite and multiple OTT platforms. Netflix started streaming PNC films recently as well.

“We have tried to keep pace with shifting public taste and changing technology,” says Pritish Nandy. “Our content has spanned across television, movies, streaming platforms, and this recent success must be credited to our show runners, Rangita and Ishita.
We at PNC love the creativity business. This is what has kept us going for 25 years. This new show has brought a lot of love our way.”
