Bulls eye! Anurag Kashyap slams Pritish Nandy on Twitter; announces new title for upcoming movie

The movie's name has been changed to 'Saand Ki Aankh'.

Director Anurag Kashyap, following the success of 'Manmarziyaan', ran into monetary troubles with his next project, 'Saand Ki Aankh'. That apart, the director also had a run-in with producer Pritish Nandy over the movie's previous title, 'Womaniya'.

The term 'Womaniya' was used extensively in Kashyap's 2012 movie 'Gangs Of Wasseypur'. However, it could not be officially counted as the name of the movie because the title was already registered under Nandy's company, Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd.

Earlier on Saturday, actress Tapsee Pannu, who is also a part of Kashyap's movie, tweeted that shooting for the film has finally begun. However, she did not reveal the name of the movie which also stars Bhumi Pednekar.

Later in the day, Kashyap, tweeting about the title, hit out at Nandy and said that he would not pay "the extortion sum of Rs 1 crore". Tagging the cast of the film which is based on two women sharpshooters, he also lamented that earlier he had expressed "faith in Mr Nandy."
