PM Modi visits mother Heeraben in Gujarat, pens emotional note on her 100th birthday

A mother is the most unswerving supporter of a child, and it is from her, that they learn the virtues of compassion, generosity, and resilience. It is her unconditional love and teachings that go on to mould future leaders. And, when it comes to leadership, India does not need to look further.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has impressed the world with his impeccable leadership, has often charmed netizens with his admiration of his mother. His latest image with his mother has impressed the Internet.

PM Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, is celebrating her 100th birthday. On this joyous occasion, the PM flew down from the national capital to meet his mother at her residence in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The 71-year-old leader also penned an emotional letter on his blog dedicated to his mother.

PM in his blog mentioned that mother, as a word, was just not an ordinary term in the dictionary. According to PM, the word encompasses a range of emotions such as love, patience, trust and a lot more. He said that a mother not only gives birth to her children but also shapes their minds, personality and self-confidence. And, while doing all these, she selflessly sacrifices her own needs and aspirations.

“Today, I feel extremely happy and fortunate to share that my mother Smt. Heeraba is entering her hundredth year. This is going to be her birth centenary year. If my father had been alive, he too would have celebrated his 100th birthday last week. 2022 is a special year as my mother’s centenary year is starting, and my father would have completed his,” wrote PM Modi on his blog.

The Prime Minister, who is in Gujarat on a day’s visit, will also be seen visiting the historic Pavagadh temple and addressing a rally in Vadodara. Meanwhile, several religious events will be held in his hometown Vadnagar to mark Heeraben’s birthday. Reportedly, the family is also planning to organise a community meal at the Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad.
