'Pathaan' going strong with Rs 970 cr worldwide collection on Day 22; catch Shah Rukh Khan in action at just Rs 110

It has been three weeks, and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Pathaan' shows no signs of slowing down.

According to Yash Raj Films (YRF), the movie has collected Rs 970 crore (gross) at the worldwide box office on Day 22 since its release on January 25.

The movie has minted Rs 605 crore (gross) in India, out of which Rs 502.45 crore in nett collection. The domestic collection includes releases in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. The overseas collection, which has a massive SRK fan following, stands at Rs 365 crore (gross).


The production house said that 'Pathaan' become the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 500 crore mark (nett) in the domestic market. Earlier, the banner had also said that it was the highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide in the history of Hindi cinema.


Meanwhile, the makers are trying to get more people to the theatre for Day 24 on Friday (February 17).

The ticket for the spy action film will be available at a flat price of Rs 110 in theatres across India.

The production company wants to celebrate the film's success at the box-office with SRK's fans. The spy thriller marks King Khan's return to the big screen after five-long years.

India's top theatre chains like PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Miraj, Movietime, MuktaA2 and other participating cinemas have come together to celebrate this Friday as 'Pathaan Day'.

The King of Bollywood also celebrated the 'Pathaan Day' announcement.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also features John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.

The movie revolves around a spy (played by SRK) who comes out of exile to stop the terrorist group Outfit X, headed by Jim (played by Abraham) from launching a debilitating attack on India.

'Pathaan' is the fourth instalment of film-maker Aditya Chopra's ambitious spy universe. It started with Salman Khan's 'Tiger' franchise - 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012) and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (2017). Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's 'War' was released in 2019.

After Salman's cameo in 'Pathaan', SRK will also make an appearance in 'Tiger 3'.
