Deepika Padukone flies economy class, netizens laud ‘down-to-earth queen’

Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone was spotted flying in economy class recently.

A video has been shared on the social media platform Reddit, which shows the ‘Pathaan’ star making her way toward the washroom. She is seen wearing a sporty orange colour tracksuit, a matching baseball cap, and sunglasses. The actress kept a low profile.
The video was shared on the Bollywood subreddit ‘Bolly Blinds & Gossip’.


Some Reddit users found the actress travelling in economy class adorable. One user wrote, “It's better they (celebs) economically rather than opting for private jets.” Another wrote, “Why am I never in these flights?”

Others shared how they spotted celebs travelling in economy class. One revealed how they came across Shilpa Shetty and her family while on a flight from Mumbai to London. Another revealed how their father had once sat next to Shahid Kapoor without recognising him.

Celebrities flying in economy class is not a rare phenomenon. In December 2022, fans spotted Bollywood power couple Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal flying economy. Kartik Aaryan, the star of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa," was frequently in the news for traveling in economy class. Last year, he was also spotted clicking selfies with fans and having a blast with them!

Padukone began 2023 with a bang. Her film ‘Pathaan’ which also stars superstar Shah Rukh Khan has turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. The SRK-Padukone-John Abraham starrer has performed phenomenally at the domestic as well as international box-office. The film has crossed Rs 970 crore at the global box office.

On the home turf, the movie has proven to be numero uno at the box office. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie is inching close to Rs 500 crore. “Pathaan gets a boost thanks to #ValentinesDay [third Tue; Day 21]… Hence, [third] Tue records higher numbers than Mon… [Week 3] Fri 5.75 cr, Sat 11 cr, Sun 12.60 cr, Mon 4.10 cr, Tue 5.40 cr.
