If reports are to be believed, Parasakthi’s streaming rights have reportedly been acquired by ZEE5, as per an OTT Play report. While the makers have not announced an official OTT premiere date yet, the film is expected to arrive on the platform around six to eight weeks after its theatrical release. We are still awaiting an official announcement.The film has received a U/A certificate, though it earlier faced censor-related issues that briefly delayed advance bookings. Meanwhile, the postponement of Jana Nayagan turned out to be an advantage for Parasakthi, allowing theatres and distributors to allocate more screens and showtimes to Sivakarthikeyan’s film.

Parasakthi is a period drama set in 1965 and revolves around two brothers played by Sivakarthikeyan and Atharvaa, who stand on opposite ideological sides. While Atharvaa’s character actively protests against the Centre’s policies, Sivakarthikeyan is shown working with the Railways. The film addresses the issue of Hindi imposition and highlights how Tamil Nadu responded to it during that period. Ravi Mohan essays the role of a government official.As per a report by TOI, Sivakarthikeyan was paid around Rs 30 crore for his role in Parasakthi. Among the supporting cast, Ravi Mohan reportedly earned Rs 16 crore, while Atharvaa charged Rs 2 crore and Sreeleela received Rs 1 crore. The film is said to have been made on an estimated budget of Rs 142 crore. Reports also suggest that director Sudha Kongara was paid Rs 15 crore for helming the project.
Set largely in Madurai, the story delves into the anti-Hindi agitations in the state. Atharvaa and Sivakarthikeyan play siblings at the heart of the conflict, while Sreeleela appears as a non-Tamilian radio presenter posted in Tamil Nadu.
