The Raja Saab box office collection day-wise
Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab generated significant buzz before its release, especially as it marked Prabhas’ return to a lighter, more playful genre. Expectations were high, but the film received a mixed response from critics and audiences on its opening day. While some praised its humour and concept, others felt the execution fell short of what was promised in the trailers.Despite the divided word of mouth, the film enjoyed a strong start at the box office. The opening day numbers were impressive, clearly driven by Prabhas’ loyal fan base. However, the real test came on Day 2, when collections saw a noticeable decline.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, The Raja Saab earned Rs 23.77 crore on its second day of release. This was a major drop compared to its Day 1 collection of Rs 53.75 crore. With this, the film’s total domestic collection after two days stands at Rs 86.67 crore, putting it just shy of the Rs 90 crore mark in India.
Occupancy figures also showed the slowdown. On Saturday, the film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 41.59 per cent. While this indicates decent footfalls, it also suggests that audience interest tapered off quickly after the initial rush.

Responding to the feedback, the makers held a press conference in Hyderabad and addressed the concerns. Director Maruthi revealed that changes had already been made to the film. He explained that after taking audience reactions into account, he reworked portions of the second half to make it crisper. He also confirmed that additional scenes, including a sequence featuring Prabhas in an older look, have been added.Maruthi shared that around eight to nine minutes of new footage were incorporated and expressed confidence that the additions would enhance the viewing experience. He credited Prabhas for putting in immense effort for these scenes and assured fans that the revised version would meet their expectations.
The Raja Saab boasts a strong ensemble cast, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar in key roles. The film’s music is composed by Thaman S, whose background score has received a mixed but largely positive response.
With new scenes now added and the weekend still underway, it remains to be seen whether The Raja Saab can regain momentum and stabilise its box office run in the coming days.
