Urban Ladder CEO Ashish Goel knows what goes on a good bookshelf. For him, it’s a mix of works by Robert Ludlum, Roald Dahl, and Neil Gaiman. “I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy fiction and recommend the same to others,” he says.

Goel’s favourite book however is John Gribbin’s 'Science: A History'. Goel says, “It’s one of the books that have really stayed with me through the years. Bill Bryson’s 'At Home: A Short History of Private Life', which describes the history of the modern home, has also been an important read for me because of its relevance to my work and not so secret passion. I would also love to find copies of my childhood favourite 'The Prince Ivan Saga' by Peter Moorwood.

While the number of books he reads depends on how much free time he has, Goel has started a new routine, “I’ve made it ritual to read for at least an hour before bedtime,” he explains. As for the method, while he finds the ebook reader a convenient companion, paper books still hold a greater charm for him.
