Sushmita Sen, in an interview with Tweak magazine, opened up about her favourite Bengali sweets: mishti doi and sandesh. The actress confessed that she can eat these 2 sweets on a regular basis, before adding that it can be a ‘really unhealthy idea’.Sushmita, however, noted that since both mishti doi and sandesh are prepared with jaggery, she finds solace in the thought that she is not exactly consuming sugar. ‘It is so delicious. It is also attached to my childhood memories of Kolkata,’ revealed the former Miss Universe.
Sushmita Sen’s love for biryani and chilli chicken
This is not the first time that Sushmita has unleashed her foodie side. Previously, she called biryani her ‘soul food’on an Instagram live session. The actress disclosed that, being born in Hyderabad, she shares an emotional connection with biryani and loves the spiciness of it.‘It is my soul food. So when I do not feel too happy, the happy food I go to is biryani. I need to feel that spicy Biryani taste. So I feel like I am connected with the umbilical cord of Hyderabad,’ said Sushmita. Apart from that, the actress also harbours a special spot for her mother’s homemade chilli chicken.
‘My mother's chilli chicken is a favourite. I mean, you guys have to taste it to understand how legendary this chilli chicken is. She really makes it very well,’ gushed Sushmita, with her daughter Alisah chiming in and agreeing with her mother’s words.
