Noah Wyle has been voted as Sexiest Man Alive
For years, Noah Wyle has captured the audience’s attention for his compelling performance as Doctor John Carter in the iconic medical drama ER and has been voted as the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ by People Magazine. The unexpected honour comes amid a remarkable career resurgence, with his acclaimed portrayal of Dr. Michael Robinavitch in HBO’s The Pitt winning over critics and viewers alike. In a chat with People magazine, the Pitt star admitted he at first thought it was a joke. “I thought that sounded like a prank—just not in a million years did I think that this would be an honor bestowed on me,” Wyle said.

Known for his lean, good looks that defy his age (55), Wyle once decoded his fitness regimen with Veja+. Instead of spending hours at the gym, he decided to spend as much time possible on his feet. He revealed he had asked all of his co-stars to stand on their feet for 15 hours.

Want To Be Lean? Stand Up More

“At the beginning of filming I asked all the actors to do an exercise, and it was just standing on your feet for 15 hours,” he added. “And as you stand, every hour begins to note where your fatigue is coming in – where do you get stiff, where’s painful, when do you have to use the bathroom, when do you get hungry? Write all that down and then work it into the appropriate hour of your shift, and it’ll give you the physicality that you need,” he said.

According to Men’s Health magazine, standing on your feet is a type of NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis). When we stand, our bodies typically engage more muscles. Standing upright exercises your core, leg and back muscles. Engaging in NEAT can help you burn more calories and also prevent a sedentary lifestyle.

Playing With Your Kids Can Keep You Fit

In a 2019 interview with AARP, Wyle said he often chased his three-year-old daughter around his farm, and that kept him fit.

'I've always been the kind of person who could start going to the gym just a month before a job, and then you can eat whatever you want, but that's not true with my metabolism or energy levels anymore,' he told AARP. 'I have to exercise pretty much every day to keep that base level of health.'

Instead of the gym, he said doing Pilates kept him fit and flexible every day. It gave him strength, balance and confidence. It also gave his ageing parents at least 10 extra years.

He also admitted he has many ab exercisers in his home. A room in his house is full of ab exercise equipment such as rollers and wheels and electro stimulations, which he utilises.

In another old interview, he revealed he and fellow ER co-star George Clooney would also reca around the Santa Monica mountains on their bikes and that activity also kept him fit. Regarding his diet, he said that he included a lot of vegetables and fruits in his diet.

How Many Calories Can You Burn Doing NEAT?

According to WebMD, everyday activities that keep you physically active include tidying up your home, doing yard work such as raking leaves or pulling weeds, watering plants, washing your car, pushing a stroller, grocery shopping, playing with your dog, cooking or grilling meals, and cleaning out and organising closets.

According to Bod Evolve, NEAT activities can help you burn anything from 250-350 calories to a whopping 2,000 calories per day. An hour of treadmill walks can help you shed roughly 250 to 350 calories, so take the stairs; walking during calls, can help you shed as many calories.
