No privileges, this young Bajaj scion has her head on her shoulders

They say that the young will inherit the earth and well, some of them are in a hurry. Take Karyna Bajaj, 23, who has just joined the board of KA Hospitality that runs Asian eateries Hakkasan and Yauatcha in India. The daughter of restaurateur Kishor Bajaj, Karyna feels her youth actually puts her at an advantage. “I don’t have any qualms about being young,” she says. “I’m fortunate to be given this position. I don’t know everything and I’m okay accepting that. It keeps my head on my shoulders. I help add a fresh perspective to the company.”

And how does she deal with colleagues who might have a tough time accepting her point of view because of her age? “I’m okay with that. I’d rather prove why someone should listen to me instead of expecting them to listen to me because of who I am,” she says.
