The non-profit organisation named an inseparable pair of a rescued horse and a mare after the newlyweds, who love animals. The NGO celebrated the Bollywood power couple's decision to keep their wedding day horse-free. The pair has been gifted to Ranbir-Alia.
Sharing his thoughts with IANS, Naresh Upreti, Chief Operating Officer of Animal Rahat, said, "A wedding is a perfect occasion for anyone to spare a thought for and show love to all our fellow sentient beings."
"In the honour of their compassion, Animal Rahat has named these horses Ranbir & Alia," Animal Rahat's post read. The bride's mother, Soni Razdan, and step-sister, Pooja Bhatt, thought it was a lovely gesture.

The 65-year-old quickly shared the NGO's post on her Instagram profile, which caught the actress' attention.
The 29-year-old bride immediately replied in the comments, "Ohh my godddddddd," with four red heart emojis.
Bhatt was named PETA India’s 2021 'Person of the Year' to celebrate her contribution towards an animal-friendly fashion industry and her advocacy for dogs and cats in need. A vegan by choice, the actress has invested in vegan-friendly companies like Phool (Fleather) and Ed-a-Mamma. The pair was rescued from different locations.
Both the animals were in poor health when they were rescued. The mare was anaemic, had multiple infected wounds, and was so severely malnourished with her ribs and hip bones jutted out. She was being used for wedding ceremonies.

On the other hand, the stallion suffered from painful swelling on all four legs and acute osteoarthritis, and was confiscated from the Gateway of India in Mumbai, where he was being used for hauling a heavy Victoria carriage.
Both the horses are now living at one of Animal Rahat's sanctuaries, where they receive nutritious food as well as veterinary care.
