New chargesheet filed against Raj Kundra, cyber police say businessman filmed pornographic movies at posh Mumbai hotels

Along with Kundra, the chargesheet also names actresses Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra.

The businessman who is married to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, was involved in a poronographic racket.

Businessman Raj Kundra has been hitting the headlines again for the wrong reasons. The Maharashtra Cyber Police filed a chargesheet last week against the entrepreneur for shooting pornographic content at two deluxe hotels in a posh suburb of Mumbai.

According to the chargesheet, Kundra was accompanied by actresses Sherlyn Chopra, Poonam Pandey, film producer Meeta Jhunjhunwala and cameraman Raju Dubey. The movies were distributed on OTT platforms, said the chargesheet.

The part of the chargesheet also includes Pandey, who was accused of developing her own mobile App, 'The Poonam Pandey'. She allegedly got her videos shot, uploaded, and circulated with help from Kundra's organisation.

In 2019, the Cyber Police had filed a chargesheet against Kundra, the director of Armsprime Media Ltd, who was engaged in producing and distributing, and uploading pornographic content on adult websites. Kundra was also arrested on July 19, 2021, along with 10 other people in connection with the same case. The 450-page chargesheet named Kundra along with Banana Prime OTT's Suvajit Choudhary and one of Kundra’s employees Umesh Kamath for producing and uploading the adult web series ‘Prem Paglani’ on OTT.

Others accused in the chargesheet include Ryan Thorp, the IT chief of Kundra's firm Viaan Enterprises, Yash Thakur alias Arvind Shrivastav who is rumoured to have fled to Singapore, and Kundra's London-based brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi, running companies Kenrin and HotShot. The Mumbai Police froze the bank accounts of Thakur which had a sum of Rs 6.50 crore in it.

Kundra was said to have produced 100 porn films, as per the chargesheet.

Kundra was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. Later, he was sent to judicial custody till July 23, 2021. In September, he was granted bail and was released from Arthur Road jail on furnishing a bond of Rs 50,000.
